Shout Out!

I put in a note at the end of Solstice Whispers to send me any typos or mistakes that were made in the book, and I must say, the emails have been fantastic! The one that sticks out most is one from Elizabeth Youngs. I am amazed at her level of detail, much better than the editor I used.

I just wanted to let everyone know I greatly appreciate your comments to me and your help. I won’t be using the pre-order again for a while because I realized I need more time on a book, including that last pass after I mess up what the editor did. I do that all the time.

I might even put together a small beta team just for that. Not anything stressful, just free copies of the book I’m working on and a chance to send me your comments and corrections. LOL. I’ll keep this website more updated going forward. But with two jobs…life gets a little crazy.

I am actively updating the file for Kindle and putting in corrections. I’m giving it a little time to make sure it’s better before I upload again. If you have updates active on your kindle, you would be able to download the corrected file. I’ll announce it here when it’s done!

Again, thank you so much! Readers are the best!

A New Book: More Stress

I have a heart condition. It’s actually a pretty common one. It deals with the fact one half of my heart doesn’t work. Blood from an atrium doesn’t pump into its ventricle of choice, so the other half of the heart works twice as hard. I’ve had this for a while, according to my Cardiologist.

And I’m a worrier, and that’s not helping. Because so many readers enjoyed book one of the Ravenwood Hills series, I have been literally stressing on book two. And cringing as I read back through it and see the mistakes I inadvertently put in after the editor gave it back to me. I do apologize for that, and I will be uploading a corrected copy soon as I finish. I also encourage any readers who caught boo-boos to email me with them at phaedra.weldon@gmail.com

As for compensation for doing that…I’ll take suggestions. But I want to have them corrected before I release the paperback copy. Oh, and adding it to the website. I usually save that kind of website fun for the weekend.

My stress level’s still pretty high, but I do hope everyone isn’t too upset with the direction of the story… I have more to tell, and answers to unanswered questions in book II. After getting this book as near perfect as I can, and released into paperback, I’ll be focusing on another book.

Update: Nanowrimo: 34,901 / 80,000

I haven’t quit and I’m still working. Spent four days doing nothing but editing and putting together a story bible for the new series and the editor. In these past FIVE days I’ve discovered my addiction to gaming could get out of control again, so I made a decision to pair down gaming back to ONE game. Final Fantasy 14. (That is, until Cyberpunk is dropped and then I’m all over that one.)

My job is also about to get more stressful as I will be taking on two hats come December. I’m hoping that will give me more time to write. I know it sounds weird, but I have my fingers crossed, while at the same time I’m a bit apprehensive. All I want to do is write.

Soooo…Nanowrimo. I am now 34,901 out of 50,000 (Nano’s requirement). I won’t hit the 80K I have set for the book by the end of November, but I am happy to announce Mabon Hollow, Book One of Ravenwood Hills should be released in December. Soon as I figure out the title for Book Two (what I’m writing now) I’ll post up a cover reveal for Mabon Hollow and an excerpt. I just need a day off to work on the cover and get with the artist for Book Two’s cover (I can do this without a title buuuut, I like having a title).

On track to finish Nanowrimo!
