Nanowrimo: 5,100/80,000

Yay! Second day (morning) done at my 2,500 a day word count. This is a pace I’m hoping I can keep up with since I now work a full time job. And I still love getting at least a little gaming in a day to relax before bed. I was amazed at how fast I did it. I already had the events of the scene/chapter sketched out, and I wrote it between 5:00am and 6:10am. It just happened.

Now, as we know, the draft I’m writing here, will not be the final product you see. That never happens. At least with me.

WOOT!

Book One is shaping up, but I’m already seeing things in Book Two that I need to go back and put in Book One. I’m hoping to have a title and cover for Book Two up at some point during this month, but not before I put up the cover for Book One.

Here’s to hoping I can keep moving!

Nanowrimo 2,567/50,000

Hello! I exist, and I am alive.

2020 has been…interesting. I can’t help suspect we all got hit by the Chinese curse, “May you Live in Interesting Times” and we’re hoping to come out of it in 2021. I didn’t get all of my writing goals finished, and this past week has been a bust, with power outages, as well as plumbing problems in my house. Twenty years ago I bought a house plumbed by the world’s worst plumber and have paid that price ever since. Pray I can get my bathtub unclogged this week with new pipping.

And now, on to something I hadn’t thought about doing in some time.

NANOWRIMO.

It’s been a while. So long I’d forgotten my password. But my page at NaNoWriMo.org is up (I think you have to have a nano account to see the page). And I’ll be making my first entry this morning. I followed a bit of Sarra Cannon’s Preptober suggestions and have a synopsis of my Paranormal Women’s Fiction Book Two (that’s the title now because I haven’t thought of one yet) that I’ll be following.

Book One, Mabon Hollow, is in revision and will be sent to an editor this month. I also have a cover reveal coming this month. As soon as it’s released I will announce it in my newsletter, Facebook, and here, with a giveaway. So stay tuned for that.

First morning of writing went well. I managed 2,567 out of my morning daily of 2,500. I have a smiley face on that. :)

I’ll be posting here, hopefully every morning, to report on the progress of both books. I have the synopsis for the next Blackstone Witches: Daphne, but that’ll have to wait until I have this book’s first draft finished. I made a bet with a friend that I would finish this, and get back in the habit of posting and sending out newsletters—if I win the bet, I get a new tablet. So yay!

Meals In The Mail

I hate doing dishes.

One of the things I’m trying to do whilst spending time at home—with two cats—all day long—is make meals a bit easier. Grocery shopping is not an option—not without arousing the ire of my daughter. And delivery is ridiculously expensive. And it’s not regular either. Beginning of the week, it was 7.99, then it was 3.99, and then it was 5.99.

MAKE UP YOUR MIND. WE ARE NOT MADE OF MONEY RIGHT NOW.

*Clears throat* Or you put your order together—and they don’t have any of your choices. Yeah…this is not stress reducing. It’s stress consuming. So someone suggested I try one of those order meals. Home Chef was the one I went with, since I got a first order discount through the day job.

Jeebers. This stuff was more expensive than groceries. But, I went with it for one delivery, and maybe another one. So, this is my first post on the first meal from Home Chef.

I got three of them, two servings each. Last night I tried the Shrimp Scampi Florentine Pasta. I mean…shrimp and noodles. You can’t go wrong. Though I had never heard of mirepoix ever. What the hell is that? I put it in because it said so. And this is what the finished product looked like.

And it tasted really good. There was just one problem…

DISHES!
